Jojoba, Avocado & Argan Oils — Seasonally Featuring Cold-Pressed Organic Pomegranate Oil
At Lyons Mane Beard & Body, the fragrance may get the attention, but the carrier blend is what makes a great beard oil perform. Our premium base combines carefully selected botanical oils chosen to condition the beard, soften the skin beneath it, and provide a smooth, non-greasy foundation for our signature aromas.
Our core blend features Jojoba Oil, Avocado Oil, and Argan Oil. Seasonally, we may substitute cold-pressed organic Pomegranate Oil for Argan Oil, giving select batches an equally premium botanical carrier with its own distinctive skin- and beard-conditioning properties.
1. Jojoba Oil
Profile: Jojoba is technically a liquid wax rather than a traditional oil. Its composition is similar to the skin's natural sebum, making it an exceptional foundation for beard and skin care. It is also naturally stable and resistant to oxidation.
Color & Texture: Golden yellow, lightweight, silky, and fast-absorbing with a smooth glide and minimal greasy residue.
Benefits: Helps moisturize and protect the skin while conditioning beard hair. Its lightweight character makes it particularly well suited for facial use, helping soften coarse beard hair, improve manageability, and leave the beard with a healthy-looking natural sheen. Jojoba naturally contains vitamin E and other beneficial compounds.
2. Avocado Oil
Profile: A rich, nutrient-dense botanical oil pressed from avocado fruit. Avocado oil brings a deeper conditioning quality to the blend and complements the lighter feel of jojoba.
Color & Texture: Typically green to golden-green with a richer, medium-weight consistency.
Benefits: Naturally rich in fatty acids, plant sterols, and vitamin E, avocado oil helps moisturize dry skin and condition coarse or brittle beard hair. Its emollient properties help improve softness and flexibility while providing a substantial, luxurious feel without overpowering the fragrance.
3. Argan Oil
Profile: Often referred to as "liquid gold," argan oil is derived from the kernels of the Moroccan argan tree. Lightweight yet highly conditioning, it has become prized in premium skin and hair formulations.
Color & Texture: Golden yellow with a light-to-medium texture that absorbs readily into the skin and beard.
Benefits: Naturally rich in vitamin E, fatty acids, and antioxidants. Argan oil helps condition and soften beard hair, improve manageability, tame the appearance of frizz and dryness, and leave both beard and skin feeling smooth without an excessively oily finish.
Seasonal Alternative: Cold-Pressed Organic Pomegranate Oil
Profile: During select seasons or production runs, cold-pressed organic Pomegranate Oil may be used in place of Argan Oil in our carrier blend. Pressed from pomegranate seeds, this premium botanical oil is particularly valued for its distinctive fatty-acid profile and naturally occurring antioxidants.
Color & Texture: Typically golden to amber with a rich, silky feel. Because it is cold-pressed, the oil undergoes minimal processing, helping preserve its naturally occurring botanical compounds.
Benefits: Pomegranate seed oil is especially rich in punicic acid, an omega-5 fatty acid. It helps nourish and condition dry skin, supports a softer and more manageable beard, and provides antioxidant-rich botanical conditioning. Its luxurious feel makes it an excellent seasonal counterpart to argan oil while maintaining the premium character of the Lyons Mane carrier blend.
When Pomegranate Oil is featured, it isn't a downgrade or filler—it is an intentional premium seasonal variation of our carrier blend.
4. Coffee Bean Oil
Profile: Used in select Lyons Mane formulations, Coffee Bean Oil adds another dimension to our carrier system. Derived from coffee beans, it contributes naturally occurring antioxidants along with a subtle roasted character that can complement certain fragrance profiles.
Color & Texture: Amber to deep brown with medium viscosity and a rich, smooth finish.
Benefits: Coffee oil naturally contains compounds such as caffeine and antioxidants. It helps condition and moisturize the skin while adding richness to beard hair. Its naturally roasted character pairs especially well with fragrance profiles featuring coffee, vanilla, bourbon, tobacco, woods, and warm gourmand notes.
